Brighton vs Chelsea

Chelsea are set to return to competitive action in little under a week.

The Premier League will be back on our screens on September 12th, following a break of around a month and a half.

Chelsea, though, will be one of the final teams to return to action in the English top-flight.

The Blues will travel to the Amex Stadium on Monday the 14th for a clash with Graham Potter’s Brighton side, whom they managed to beat and draw with last term.

The pair have also recently played out a pre-season friendly, with the spoils shared in that game.

Ziyech & Chilwell to miss Brighton game

As well as seeing their side back in action, the Chelsea faithful will also not doubt be keen to get a glimpse at some of their many summer additions.

All of Timo Werner, Hakim Ziyech, Kai Havertz, Ben Chilwell and Thiago Silva are set to ply their trade at Stamford Bridge in 2020/21.

However, vs Brighton, it appears two of Chelsea’s new boys are set to miss out.

Chilwell has been dealing with an injury since back in July whilst Hakim Ziyech picked up a knock in the aforementioned pre-season clash with Brighton.

And both of those injuries now look set to keep the duo from featuring this coming Monday.

The Athletic have reported on Wednesday that the Blues will be without both Ziyech and Chilwell for the trip to Brighton.

Said duo are also expected to be out for a few weeks.

The Londoners have been handed some good news today, though, with it claimed that Christian Pulisic is in contention to feature.

Kai Havertz is also on course to make his debut at the Amex.
