Reports in England on Thursday suggest Dani Ceballos is closing in on another loan with Arsenal.

Ceballos’ Arsenal stint

Ceballos joined Arsenal on a season-long loan from Real Madrid last summer.

The Spaniard enjoyed a fairly promising start to life in England, with his standout display vs Burnley in August having no doubt caught the eye of the Arsenal faithful.

The months that followed, however, saw Ceballos fail to carry such form forward, before he was hit with an injury.

But after returning to favour under new Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta, the Spaniard went on to cement himself as a key member of the Gunners’ squad.

His midfield partnership with Granit Xhaka, meanwhile, was particularly impressive at the back end of the season with the pair playing a key role in Arsenal’s FA Cup success.

Ceballos returning

As a result, it should have come as little surprise to hear the north Londoners were aiming to secure Ceballos’ services for the forthcoming campaign.

However, said deal was then cast into doubt when reports in the Spanish press claimed in early August that Real Madrid were set to keep hold of Ceballos for the 2020/21 campaign.

Madrid’s stance, though, looked to have changed in recent weeks when it was reported on Monday that Ceballos was once again closing in on a return to the Emirates.

Now, according to the Evening Standard, Ceballos has arrived in London to finalise another loan move to Arsenal.

However, due to current government guidelines, Ceballos must quarantine for two weeks, suggesting he will miss the start of the Premier League season on September 12th.
