Manchester United have been linked again after another high-profile LaLiga star received an offer from England, while Chelsea are closing in on two more signings, according to Wednesday’s Euro Paper Talk.
JORDI ALBA LINKED WITH MANCHESTER UNITED
Jordi Alba is set to become the latest high-profile star to leave Barcelona.
Ronald Koeman has taken over the reins at the Camp Nou and faces a massive rebuilding job. He has already shown Luis Suarez the door, with the former Liverpool man agreeing terms on a surprise move.
Ivan Rakitic has also been moved on, rejoining former side Sevilla. However, the biggest departure of them all is set to be Lionel Messi. He has also agreed terms on a lucrative five-year deal with Man City’s owners.
Barcelona, however, might not be done there as reports say another of their old guard is poised to move on.
As per Don Balon, they state the Spain full-back is strongly considering a move away this summer. Furthermore, it’s stated Alba has been contacted by a number of Premier League suitors.
While the report negates to mention which clubs are in the hunt, there are very few clubs currently in the market to sign a new left-back.
Of the clubs linked, it is United whose need is greatest. The 31-year-old is tipped as an upgrade to Luke Shaw. As such, it’s claimed a deal to bring in Alba could give the Red Devils’ defence more ‘know how and experience’.
While the report all seems rather wishy-washy, Don Balon are convinced Jordi Alba plans to leave and the Premier League will be his next destination.
Meanwhile, reports in Argentina have provided an update on Sergio Romero’s future. As per Ole, the goalkeeper is ready to push for an exit from Man Utd in order to “earn more respect” elsewhere. Everton and Aston Villa are planning approaches.
