Super agent Jorge Mendes is reportedly attempting to drive down the asking price for Wolves forward Adama Traore in a bid to garner interest from Liverpool and Manchester City.
Traore, who struggled for form at former club Middlesbrough, has become one of Wolves’ best players.
Indeed, he has enjoyed such a rise that, earlier this year, Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo could not guarantee the Spaniard would be at the club for the upcoming season.
Previous reports have touted Liverpool and City as contenders for Traore’s signature. However, the Premier League title rivals have concerns over the winger’s asking price.
Calciomercato concretes those fears, adding that Wolves would want at least €70million (£63million). That fee has “scared” the two North West clubs, the report claims.
However, super agent Mendes is allegedly on hand and is “working to find a solution”. The agent is reportedly trying to lower Traore’s price in an effort to produce interest.
However, the report does not make clear the new price for which Mendes would like Traore to be available for.
Juventus also want to sign the Spaniard, with the Italian champions excited by his “quality and flexibility” across the front line.
However, Juve would need to offload the likes of Douglas Costa and Federico Bernardeschi to fund a move. Indeed, Juve are yet to receive any firm offers for the pair.
Traore played a key role in deposing City as top-flight champions, scoring three goals in the two games between the sides last season.
What’s more, he has formed a deadly partnership with fellow forward Raul Jimenez.
COLLYMORE URGES LIVERPOOL TO SIGN BARCA STRIKER
Meanwhile, Stan Collymore feels Liverpool should instead go all out to sign Antoine Griezmann.
The Frenchman endured poor form in his debut season at Barcelona and doubts have emerged about his longevity in the team.
And Collymore feels the Reds’ dressing room would benefit from his marquee arrival.
