Manchester City have, on Monday, confirmed that two of their senior players have tested positive for Covid-19.
Man City duo positive for Covid-19
The duo in question is centre-back Aymeric Laporte and winger Riyad Mahrez.
In a post across the club’s social media platforms and official website on Monday morning, City confirmed that the duo is currently observing a period of self-isolation in accordance with Premier League and UK Government protocol on quarantine.
It is added that neither player is displaying any symptoms of the virus.
It is also worth noting that both players were not on international duty, meaning the issue of being able to return to the UK and then having to quarantine further is not there.

Wolves vs Man City
Man City’s first league game of the season will take place on September 21st.
Had City began the campaign the weekend beginning September 12th along with most sides, there may have been some doubt regarding the aforementioned duo’s involvement.
But with City not travelling to Wolves for another two weeks after being granted a late start due to their run in Europe, both players, all being well, should have finished their period in quarantine and be back with the squad.
Current UK government guidelines state you should isolate for 10 days if you have tested positive for the virus.
