Two Premier League outfits have, on Tuesday, been linked with a move for Bournemouth’s Callum Wilson.

Wilson’s Bournemouth stint

Wilson, 28, has been plying his trade with Bournemouth since 2014, after making the move to the South Coast from Coventry.

The forward has since gone on to become a key member of the Cherries’ attack.

All told, in 187 outings across all competitions for Bournemouth, the hitman has netted 67 and assisted 30.

Wilson’s 2018/19 campaign proved particularly impressive, with the Englishman having scored 14 and assisted 10 in 30 Premier League outings.

And whilst the Coventry youth didn’t enjoy as much success in front of goal last time out, Bournemouth had a pretty poor 2019/20 which, of course, led to them being relegated to the Championship on the final day of the campaign.

Newcastle & Aston Villa eyeing Wilson

And with the Cherries now set to be honing their craft in the second tier of English football, Wilson’s stint at the Vitality looks to be coming to an end.

As mentioned above, though his 2019/20 wasn’t superb, Wilson has still proven he is more than capable of cutting it in the Premier League.

Several top-flight sides, including Tottenham and Fulham, have already been linked with the forward.

Now, on Tuesday, it appears as though another two outfits are leading the race for Wilson.

As per Keith Downie of Sky Sports News, both Aston Villa and Newcastle are in talks with Bournemouth for Wilson.

It is added that Newcastle are aiming to include a player, potentially Matt Ritchie in the deal for Wilson – whilst Villa would just look to buy him outright.
