A host of Premier League clubs have spoken to Everton about a potential loan deal for Theo Walcott, TEAMtalk understands.
The former England star is not understood to be in Carlo Ancelotti’s long-term plans as he looks to remodel his side.
The likes of James Rodriguez, Allan and Abdoulaye Doucoure have arrived this summer.
Ancelotti has set Everton up in a 4-3-3 formation this season, with Rodriguez and Richarlison operating in wide forward positions.
Colombian star Rodriguez has started brilliantly. Alex Iwobi, Bernard and Moise Kean offer options off the bench.
As such, the Italian tactician has told Walcott he can move on.
Walcott, now at 31, must decide whether to battle for a place at Goodison Park, or to move on for regular first-team football.
We understand that West Ham and Crystal Palace have both made contact over a potential deal. We’ve also been informed that intermediaries have also spoken to Newcastle and Fulham. Former club Southampton have also been asked if they would consider an emotional return.
Ben Godfrey deal immiment
Everton, meanwhile, are expected to announce the signing of defender Ben Godfrey from Norwich this weekend.
Having seen a first approach rejected, the Toffees have now had a second, increased offer accepted by the Canaries.
Godfrey caught the eye during Norwich’s one-season stay in the Premier League. The England U21 international had been scouted by Manchester United, while Tottenham and even AC Milan were credited with an interest.
However, it is Everton who have emerged from the shadows and Ancelotti’s side are now on the brink of his signing.
The player has been on Merseyside to conduct his medical and a move is expected to be sealed shortly.
