Leeds are ready to make a last-ditch bid to sign a young Liverpool defender, while five Premier League clubs want to sign Everton misfit Theo Walcott, according to Sunday’s paper gossip.
LEEDS BACK IN FOR LIVERPOOL LEFT-BACK
A report in the Sunday Mirror claims that Marcelo Bielsa will face opposition from the continent and at home for the defender, with the Reds expecting a number of late moves for Larouci before Monday’s 11pm deadline.
However, that is not putting Bielsa off a move for the 19-year-old Algerian, who wants out of Anfield with Andy Robertson firmly established as Jurgen Klopp’s first choice. The Reds also signed Kostas Tsimikas as Robertson’s back-up over the summer.
Larouci has just one year to run on his contract at Anfield, and the report adds that the Merseyside outfit would prefer him to move to a club in England.
It’s not the first time Leeds have been linked with Larouci, having been put off Liverpool’s £2million asking price for the youngster earlier in the summer.
He joined the Liverpool academy from French side Le Havre in 2017 after being granted international clearance.
The versatile Stuart Dallas has been used at left-back for Leeds so far this season, with Barry Douglas being linked with a potential move away from the club.
And it looks like Bielsa feels that is an area of his team that needs to be strengthened, with Larouci an affordable option as Leeds still try and push through deals for other more expensive targets.
A move for Brentford playmaker Said Benrahma is back on the cards, while Rennes winger Raphina is also an option for around £17million.
